Travelling? Your go to Workout Tips & Circuits

Call me crazy or obsessed but I really enjoy working out no matter where I am in the world whether that be long walks through random cities, early morning hikes getting lost or circuits in my hotel gym or room. Something about the feeling after just finishing a workout makes me feel energised and ready to attack the day!

First of all I am not a personal trainer (my husband is) but through years of experience in my swimming career (12yrs) and being around the gym environment I now know what works for me. What I look for in a workout? Quite simple I need great music, nothing like great tunes to workout to or sometimes dance :). Next get me some cute sportswear, if you look good you feel good why not start with what you wear. Lastly when it comes to my workout I want to focus on functionality whilst also gaining strength and increasing my cardio fitness (I like to sweat it up as seen in my videos).

When I'm on holidays yes I love to treat myself to something naughty who doesn't? I believe in the 80/20 rule! 80% of the time I'm going to eat healthy and make the best choices that are available to me, workout because I love the feeling of having a strong healthy body it gives me confidence. And of course the 20% ahhh this is where I say yes to some gelato or a glass of rose here and there or maybe its the local treat where ever I am in the world (don't get me started about the bakeries in Paris). It's all about balance I say!

So enough ranting on my part here is some of the fun 10-30min circuits I did whilst away. Let me know what you think of these fuss free circuits with no equipment needed.

Core 1

20 leg throw downs ( I used a chair to hold onto)

40 crunches

40 Russian twists 

1 min plank /1 min side plank each side x 2

Core 2

40 Bicycles 

1 min v sit

40 mountain climbers

40 crunches 

X 3

 

Butt/Legs 1.

20 Deep squats

1 min wall hold 

20 Jump lunges 

10 each side Single leg hip press 

x 3 

 

Butt/ Legs 2. 

20 Jump squats 

20 each side fire hydrants 

20 hip raises

1 min high knees

x 3

 

Arms (My legs were aching from lots of walking in Paris this was good to work my arms) 

20 Push ups with clap or touch shoulder

20 dips 

20 Commandoes

Whole Body Circuit ( In hotel gym with equipment)

1 min high knees

20 squat press with 10 kg dumbbell 

20 split lunges 

15 pushups with clap

20 russian twists with medicine ball

2 minute Hand weights boxing combo (Upper cuts/straight punches) 

25 dips 

x 2

 

Whole Body circuit in hotel room 1.

50 mountain climbers

1 min wall hold

12 push ups with tap

25 dips

20 squat jumps

30 sec high knees

x 3/4 

 

Whole Body circuit in hotel room 2. 

20 star jumps( yes star jumps gets the heart rate up ) 

30 hip raises/ single leg (if prefer)

20 dips

25 deep squats 

10 burpees

20 v sits
